Bea will be working for CEASE as the Policy Intern, focusing on tackling sexual exploitation through research and advocacy. She recently graduated with a degree in Politics and International Relations, dedicating the final six months to studying the impacts of UK policy on victims of human trafficking and modern slavery. This experience made her more aware of the urgent need for reform and the harmful effects these issues have, particularly on women. Her work with anti-slavery charities has deepened her understanding of the cultural implications and the changes required, allowing her to engage with victim narratives and confront the harsh realities of sexual exploitation, which has fuelled her aspiration to create meaningful change.
She is inspired by the hope of seeing individuals find freedom and healing, advocating for justice for the oppressed and accountability for those who perpetuate harm, by recognising the need for legal reform and stricter regulations. As an intern just starting her career, she is eager to push for governmental action and public engagement to address the critical issues affecting many lives. She looks forward to learning from the team and benefiting from their expertise.
