coalition
About the Pornography Harms coalition:
The Pornography Harms Coalition is a cross-sector alliance convened by CEASE and Barnardo’s. It emerged from joint engagement during the passage of the Online Safety
Act, which led to the Government’s 2023 Review into Pornography. CEASE and Barnardo’s subsequently brought together charities, experts and parliamentarians to coordinate evidence, share intelligence and shape the Review’s outcomes.
Now operating as the Pornography Harms Coalition, its remit has expanded to the longer-term development of coherent legislative and policy solutions to the wide-ranging harms associated with online pornography, from child protection and violence against women and girls, to escalation pathways, production-related exploitation and the emerging risks posed by AI.
In practice, the Coalition coordinates parliamentary briefings and amendments, produces accessible research analysis, supports joint public interventions, and creates routes for survivors and affected individuals to inform policy. Its purpose is to build a credible, resilient alliance capable of strengthening accountability and driving meaningful reform.
